Fall 2017 Juvenile Justice Communications Intern

The communications intern will work directly with CFYJ’s Communications Director as well as other members of CFYJ staff. This intern will participate in a variety of activities including web-based projects, research, writing, and event planning. Specific duties include assisting with CFYJ events, such as report launches, press conferences, forums and roundtables; maintaining and updating media lists; uploading web content, social media, compiling news clippings, photos and video; and completing other office duties as assigned. This Internship will involve a heavy emphasis on developing and expanding CFYJ’s online media presence, social networking outreach, and blog content.

Fall 2017 Juvenile Justice State Campaigns Intern

State Campaigns Fellow (1 Fellow position): State Campaigns fellow will intern part time in the CFYJ office. Fellow responsibilities may include assisting staff with state campaign related activities and strategy development; assisting with the development of advocacy resources and tools; assisting with event planning and other grassroots mobilization activities; writing and editing feature stories and articles for the CFYJ blog; assisting with other specific projects in conjunction with the campaign’s other fellows; attending planning sessions and staff meetings. This Fellow will also work with the State Campaigns Director to coordinate and facilitate events and activities during Youth Justice Action Month (YJAM) in October.

Fall 2017 Research and Policy Fellow

Research and Policy Fellow (1 Fellow position): The Research and Policy fellow will intern part time in the CFYJ office (about 10 hours/week). Fellow responsibilities may include researching different justice-related policies (local, state, federal) or proposed policies (reform bills) that could impact CFYJ’s current or future projects, and assisting with various research-related tasks. These tasks may include quantitative and/or qualitative data collection, data entry, and/or analysis, preparing literature reviews, drafting blog entries for CFYJ’s website, and assisting with specific state- level policy requests. Fellows will also have the opportunity to attend local and federal briefings and hearings.
